Luxury vinyl plank and tile (LVP/LVT) is a practical choice for Central Brevard homes. Many styles have a waterproof core and stand up well to humidity, spills, tracked-in sand and everyday wear, which is why vinyl flooring suits kitchens, entryways, living areas and vacation rentals across the barrier island and Merritt Island alike.

Floor Coverings International® brings a full range of LVP and LVT samples directly to your home through our Mobile Flooring Showroom®, so you can see how different plank widths, colors and finishes look next to your own walls, cabinets and furniture.

Local Considerations

Humidity and sand. Near-constant humidity and, closer to the beach, tracked-in sand make LVP flooring a strong fit for most main living areas here, not just wet rooms.

Waterproof core vs. waterproof seams. A waterproof core doesn’t always mean waterproof seams. If protecting what’s underneath matters, say in a kitchen or a room off the beach, ask which styles have waterproof seams too.

A flat subfloor. Luxury vinyl is floated or glued down rather than nailed, so it needs a flat subfloor. Our installers check for high and low spots before your vinyl flooring installation, since an uneven subfloor is a common cause of gaps or lifting. That check matters even more in older homes, where what’s under the floor can vary.

Wear layer. Ask to compare a few wear-layer thicknesses side by side. The thicker the protective layer, the better a floor tends to resist scuffs, and seeing the difference in person makes the choice much easier.
