Spring is a season of renewal—a time to refresh our homes and embrace new beginnings. For one Metro Atlanta homeowner, this season marked more than just a renovation; it was a step toward healing, comfort, and a fresh start for her family.

Carly Harrington and Miguel Harris, co-owners of family-owned Floor Coverings International of South Atlanta, GA, took this project to heart—not just as experts but as dear friends of the homeowner, who tragically lost her wife. Feeling the loss alongside her, they were deeply committed to creating a space that not only provided stability and continuity but also honored her wife’s memory while making room for new moments of love and warmth.

A Home in Transition

The homeowner, a young mother raising her two-year-old son, was in the midst of renovations when she tragically lost her wife. What had once been an exciting transformation suddenly became an overwhelming, unfinished project. With a newly built addition on the house, mismatched flooring between the living room and kitchen served as a daily reminder of what was incomplete. She needed more than just a flooring solution; she needed a way to bring harmony, comfort, and a sense of stability back into her daily life.
