Where do I start? I’m obviously no pro which is why I opted to hire FCI. Boy was this a mistake! My original plan was to install this tile myself but with all the crazy angles in my home I chose to have someone come do it for me. Some quotes were even as much as $1500 cheaper than FCI. Why I chose this company over the others is he came in and said he could get a “crew” out here and knock it out in 2-3 days. I thought bigger company, bigger crew, what could go wrong. It took 5 and if you look at the pictures you might wonder why. They had zero respect for cleanliness, some grout lines were completely full of thinset, we had the thinset splashed up on our dishwasher, walls and a door frame (pictured). Also pictured, you can see the complete over use of materials and waste not being utilized. I had go purchase 2 boxes of 2000 spacers and 8 more bags of thinset. It’s been a whole month since they did this. As I try to finish putting in new base boards I’m finding red plastic spacers above the grout, thinset above the grout. The new baseboards won’t set flush with the wall because so much thinset was squeezed out. In the grout lines, there are low spots leaving sharp edges of tile for bare feet. There are wavy lines that will have to be redone and high spots that were not troweled or wiped correctly. They sent two people out for this job. A father and son. The son would wander off outside and mess around on his phone while dad is working. I’m sorry, but when I’m paying for this, you’re on MY time. Now, Jim the owner came over the day the job started. Somehow, I expected he might come back when it was finished… nope. He sends me an invoice via email. After a little back and forth, I asked him to take some money off. He then tells me that since he added for furniture removal he would deduct that. So basically he RIPPED ME OFF!!! During the initial quote I told him I would do all the demo of the existing tile and any remaining furniture would be out in time for the install. I could probably go on about how badly this went but I’ll stop here. This job was sloppy and rushed and I probably could have done a better job myself. Definitely would NOT recommend.

Our home looks amazing and we are so happy with the results. Jim and team were collaborative and responsive throughout the project which was a 2 level home over 3k sq ft with stairs. It was not simple due to previous flooring install. Only challenge encountered is truly understanding day to day like via a skeleton or projected time line of the ohases or steps especially since we lived here during the job with multiple.

From beginning to end, I had a great experience working with Jim on new flooring in my home. For the initial consultation, Jim spent 2-3 hours at my home, patiently explaining the details of various types of flooring. He did not rush at all, and it was evident to me and my husband that Jim is very knowledgeable about flooring - both the science and the process. I was impressed by his thoroughness, friendly demeanor, and excellent customer service. We got several other quotes from other flooring companies, and ultimately decided to go with Jim because of the fair pricing and our impression that he is trustworthy and would do a great job. When we were going back and forth on which colors/materials to use, Jim kindly came to our home a second time and patiently showed us samples again. His communication was always prompt and professional. He would respond to texts during evenings and weekends, beyond regular business hours. His son installed vinyl in our living room, and he had a crew install our new carpet the next day. All the installers arrived on time and did a fantastic job. I recommend Jim/his team without hesitation to anyone who is looking for top quality flooring and a hassle-free experience.

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new wood flooring! Had all my carpet pulled & a new wood flooring put down!! It’s so beautiful!! Everyone that has seen it also Loves it!! The whole team at FCI is the best! From the consultation with Jim, to the end result!! They communicated with me everyday! The installation was Awesome! The installers were polite & very hard working folks!! I would highly recommend FCI to anyone looking for new flooring! 5 Stars!!
