We had about 75% of the flooring on our upper level redone, replacing the original carpet with laminate, and I am still blown away by how beautiful it turned out. If your idea of laminate is the stuff that became popular in the ’80s and ’90s, this is nothing like that. The flooring genuinely looks and feels like hardwood, and the option Paul helped us choose looks like it was made specifically for our home. Working with Paul, the owner, was one of the best parts of the entire experience. He came to our home with samples and never made us feel rushed. We went through multiple rounds because I wanted to be sure we got it right, and every time, he really listened to what we liked and didn’t like. Each new set of options was more dialed in than the last. At one point we were torn between two laminate choices, and Paul steered us in the direction he thought would work best. He absolutely nailed it. Looking at the finished space now, I cannot imagine having chosen anything else. We also replaced the carpet on both sets of stairs and in one bedroom. Our original builder-grade carpet had not held up well after only four years, especially with pets, so we wanted something that would be both durable and beautiful. The carpet we selected has a pattern, which made the installation especially important. On stairs, one bad installer, or even an average one, could have left the pattern looking crooked or uneven. The installation is literally flawless. The lines are straight, the transitions are clean, and the attention to detail is incredibly impressive. Our materials did need to be ordered, so there was about a month or two between choosing everything and installation, but that actually worked perfectly for us because it gave us time to paint beforehand. Paul was also very thoughtful about helping us control costs where it made sense. He suggested things we could take on ourselves, like installing the stair skirt boards and moving furniture, rather than automatically adding every possible service to the quote. Installation day might have been the most impressive part. There were probably close to ten people at our house, with different crews working on different areas at the same time. They completed essentially the entire project in six hours or less. Watching that team work was incredible. They were organized, efficient, professional, and clearly knew exactly what they were doing. A lot of companies say they care about your project, but this was one of the first times I genuinely felt the same level of care, professionalism, and attention to detail from the initial consultation all the way through the finished installation. Paul clearly takes a lot of pride in his business, and that carries through to the people he has working with him. They even made us a custom rug for our pet corner, which was such a thoughtful finishing touch. We could not be happier with how everything turned out. I would recommend Flooring International East Twin Cities, and especially Paul, without hesitation. The finished floors completely transformed our home, and the entire experience felt personal, thoughtful, and exceptionally well executed.

This was the first time we've updated our flooring and these guys did an outstanding job. They were friendly, honest, professional and worked quickly to get our space finished in 1 day. We are blown away by the results and love to sit on the couch and admire their work lol. It feels like a brand new home. We have gotten many many compliments on what a great job they did. Thank you so much for restoring our home and taking the time to get it finished in 1 sitting so we could enjoy it! We had a difficult project we wanted to have done. It’s an old house, 1913, and we are trying to keep it looking period appropriate. We wanted a runner for the stairs. The stairs have a landing half-way up, then turn to the upstairs. The carpet we chose has a pattern to it so the landing and stairs needed to merge and look like it was intended to be that way. Oh, and the carpet needed to be wool. That was a tall order. It took a lot of patience and expertise to make it look seamless. Wow, what a fabulous job! It takes my breath away.

We did a bathroom remodel. From the first appointment to the installation we were very impressed. Everyone was professional, courteous, and respectful. Unfortunately I chose the wrong color. From that point forward our impression only improved to the excellent category! Paul graciously came back the next day to help us pick out something different and we absolutely love it.
