This is the flooring company for you if you want to wait Days to have carpet samples mailed to you because they don't have many in inventory. If you want to wait hours-to-DAYS for responses from the coordinator. To Not have the coordinator pass along all details to the installers. To deal with installers leaving before you can assess the day's work. And to deal with gaslighting attempts by the owner, Joe. Now, it wasn't all bad. It started off a little promising... PRO: • The company reluctantly agreed to install the carpet throughout the 3 levels of our home on 2 different dates because I have small children at home all day [and we can't be confined to the kitchen.) • And in the end, there were minimal scratches to wall trim and no damage to walls. Excellent. • Minimal seam peaking along one seam in the living room. They addressed it sufficiently. However. CONS: • They ordered insufficient carpet. And I never received an apology for the add'l intrusion into our home/schedule. • They had to come out on 4 total dates: 2, to correct their work. • There were protruding staples on the stairs but I handled those myself. • Many of the stairs' edges had untrimmed strings. I brought it to their attention but I still fixed more myself after their 4th visit. • One installer literally hacked off a piece of carpet with a box knife (it was installed too high on the stairs) and left strings sticking out. Not folded, not tacked in place. He said it was done and left before I could assess. • Furniture wasn't replaced correctly. They left before I could request assistance with it. I'm left dragging 200 lb nightstands around and adjusting a King sleigh bed by myself. (My husband was traveling that week.) The biggest issues were with Joe. He's a pro at blame shifting and gaslighting. He interrupts, belittles, and escalates. After starting our call with attitude, he would later insinuate that he should let me take them to court to get the work finished so the court could hear how *I'm speaking to them. As if I'm scared of that. I'm not cussing. I'm speaking firmly and asserting my rights as the customer. Because I'm tired of being dismissed, waiting around, and finishing work that for contractors we've hired. Me: "Go ahead. I've been to court." Joe: [snickers] "I don't doubt that." Me: "And I won. Because the courts can recognize unfinished work." Joe: [crickets] Me: "And there are two areas that are unfinished. And I also understand finish work. I'm a painter and drywaller. I..." Joe: [Interrupting me.] "Oh yes, I read about the >little< projects you say you've managed." Me: [Nope.] Joe: "Well, why wasn't the trim piece installed before we came out?" Me: "Because it wasn't. Why didn't your guy ask for clarification instead of making a judgment call and mismatching the sides of the stairs? That isn't on me. All he had to do was ask." Joe: "Can you at LEAST have it installed before we come out again?" Me: "My schedule is still the same as what I texted Jonathan last week, and..." Joe: [Interrupting me] "That's not the question I asked you." Me: "Yes. I. will. have. it. installed." Me: "You want to talk about answering questions... The big question is, Joe, is the work done? Is it? Because that's what matters. Let's get this done and you'll never hear from me again." Joe: [crickets] Me: "I need an answer before noon tomorrow about when they can come out." I don't know what his issue is with assertive women who know what's what. But if that's you, you might just save yourself the headache and spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. There are more deserving businesses. Oh, and if you do choose FCI, under no circumstances should you ask for a GLI (that protects you against any damages that might arise from their employees on-site). Joe stated they don't carry it, and they "haven't needed it in over 10 years." But your request for it might almost get your project canceled. Joe certainly won't ever hear from me again. But you all deserve to.

Joe and his whole crew were fantastic to work with. We had both carpet and hardwood floors installed in our home and they made the process seamless and as easy as possible. We would definitely recommend them!

Amazing work, we have had them replace the flooring on our stairs as well as hardwoods on the main level, truly exceeded expectations and were awesome to work with. Highly recommended

Joe was wonderful to communicate and work with. He called me back immediately, had an appt set up for measurement and a MOBILE show room- as a busy Mom, this was incredible to not have to go somewhere to look at a carpet options. From first phone call to install, it was just over a week. Highly recommend!!!

We have used Floor Coverings International on multiple occasions. We have been very impressed with the quality of the carpet, as well as the quality of the service and installation. We would recommend them very highly!

FCI did a wonderful job on our master bathroom project. The owner, Joe, is very knowledgeable and experienced. I appreciated his honesty when we discussed our original ideas for this project, and he continued with the same level of genuine care throughout the entire project. We are very pleased with our bathroom and would recommend this company to anyone, and would use them again in our own home!

Our new floors turned out great! The team was easy to work with and very responsive any time I had questions. I also really loved that we didn't have to move our big pieces of furniture!

I’ve completed a couple of larger projects with this company and was happy with the quality of the installations. However, after the work was done, two of my transition pieces needed to be replaced—one broke, and the other was installed too high for the door to close. It’s a small fix, but despite multiple attempts to follow up, it’s been three months with no resolution. Being ignored after spending thousands of dollars is incredibly disappointing, and for that reason I felt a 2-star review was appropriate. I prefer to stay loyal to companies I work with, but the lack of communication and customer service makes it hard to recommend them at this time.
