I'm very happy with my decision to go with this company for my new flooring. They personalize services and were wonderful to work with, especially Calvin. The new carpet is exactly what I wanted.

My husband and I are very impressed by the care given (in craftsmanship and communication) by the team from Floor Coverings International of Champaign in removing and reinstalling the tiles in our master bath shower to repair a leak. The owner Calvin was very thorough from initial intake (understanding our desired outcome) through final walk-through and at every stage in between. The team even went above and beyond by caulking the baseboards adjacent to the shower to ensure there would be no water damage outside the shower. The personalized touches (e.g. homemade cinnamon rolls as a thank you for being their customer), clear communication and craftsmanship (even my family member who is an architect was iimpressed!) made for a great experience. I'd absolutely recommend their work for customers looking for a tiling service.

I hired Floor Coverings International of Champaign to install new floors in the majority of my house. Calvin was very patient because it was taking me a long time to decide on the color. Once I decided on a color I gave Calvin, the owner, a deposit. I asked him to drop by the next day and drop off my receipt, which he never did. I cancelled the order, knowing that I might have an issue with this company based on the Calvin not following through on what he agreed to earlier. Problem was I had already put down deposit and was not going to be returned so I was stuck with this company. I choose another color and was scheduled for installation for 12/10/25. Calvin stated there would be 4 installers, they would park in street, so I could get out, they would arrive at 8 and the job would take 1.5 days. Well, none of that happened. 2-3 installers, 2 full days, left garbage in my yard, and arrived late. After the installation, Calvin, does a walk through. But, doesn't give the homeowner a chance to review the work. I noticed several issues such as wrong color for transitions, front door would not close, loose board in the closet, 2 planks had blemishes, damage to furniture. Calvin admitted to placing the wrong transitions on the floor. He stated the correct ones weren't available and needed to order them. I accepted Calvin to order the right materials and receive them before the installation or at the very least to share and communicate that with me. Which he choose not to. I asked Calvin to fix the issues asap so I could get my house back together. I wanted the job completed before my surgery on 12/30. Of course, that didn't happen. Calvin, suggested a date in early January which I was not available because I was recovering from surgery. I needed another week. We scheduled the job to be completed on 1/27/26. The installers showed up late, didn't know what to do, and left without doing the job. I notified Calvin and he made excuses. In my opinion Calvin should of informed the installers what to do. I told them what needed to be done and they didn't listen or care. I was furious. Now it's been 6 weeks and the project wasn't done. Of course we had to schedule another appointment for 2/6/26. The team was late of course, but they finished the job. The only issue know was they got glue on my kitchen floor. I did not contact Calvin because I just want to be done with this company and nightmare. I would not recommend this company. The customer service is very poor. It should not take a flooring project 7 weeks. It was a huge inconvenience. The huge error I made was paying the full amount for the project on 12/11/25. I felt like after they receive payment you are not important anymore. If I would of withheld payment until the project was complete I am sure it would of been completed in a timely manner. Highly recommend Calvin and his team! They provided excellent customer service and worked within our budget without any pressure. The installation was seamless, on time, and the crew went the extra mile by helping with heavy furniture. The personal gift from Calvin and his wife was such a classy touch. Professional, prompt, and high quality. A few words I’d use to describe my experience. We needed a full sand and refinish on our hardwood. Great explanation of the process and helped us understand our options. Project execution was on point. On time, excellent outcome, communication throughout was great, everything was clean when it was done. Love supporting a local business.

The crew were extremely friendly and did a wonderful job with the flooring in our basement. We had a missing piece of baseboard and they replaced that too! Would definitely call on FCI again!
