We built our home 22 years ago. Absolutely loved our hardwood floors, but 22 years of kids, 9 grandkids, 1 great granddaughter showed the normal wear and tear. We coordinated while on vacation to have them refinished. Such a wonderful treat to come home to beautiful floors. Exceptional service and care. Highly recommend!!!

Project: What started out as a flooring-only project turned into flooring, full bathroom/closet/laundry room addition, and effectively a complete refresh of the entire main floor of our ranch home. Below is a list of the work for the project. • Replacing all flooring on main floor covering 1,600+ square feet including new carpet on stairs to lower level • Master bathroom/closet/laundry room remodel (Combining master closet and laundry room into on open space), adding zero entry tile shower, replacing glass block with casement window, adding private water closet, new vanity, mirrors, lighting, ventilation, re-routing dryer electrical outlet and dryer vent (because we added a full-size stackable unit mid-project) • Add-ons - Painting entire main floor, repairing existing drywall issues in ceiling and repainting most main floor ceilings, correcting non-code fan vents and roof ridge venting, replacing outdated ceiling light fixtures with LED lighting, adding LED lighting below and above kitchen cabinets, whole home water softener and reverse osmosis (RO) water system in the kitchen, replacing kitchen countertops and adding tile back splash, and replacing over the range microwave. Structural: Brett and team were relentless in their drive for structural excellence. The flooring team worked swiftly and professionally. The plan was to lay down an additional 3/8-inch subfloor and remediate any identified creaks with new screws. When the sub-flooring arrived, he said that the 7/16-inch sheets were less expensive, so he went with the thicker one (details matter). The crew moved everything heavy and completed the job in two days. Brett would always discuss issues and options with us and bring in the appropriate sub-contractors for advice when needed. This was key to the success for a large and complex project. He never strayed away from the primary design criteria. As an example, he came to me with a framing issue around the tile shower. While technically, it was "good enough", he was not satisfied with the integrity for the long term (again, details matter). The result was an insignificant three inches less room in the shower but guaranteed structural integrity. The sub-contractors were on top of their work, timing, and cleanup (mostly). Drywalling took significantly more time than expected because of combining the closet and laundry room. In the end it was worth the extra time. Given how the project expanded essentially into a major re-model of the entire main floor, with multiple subs, they were organized. While Brett officially managed the flooring and bathroom remodel, the subs essentially coordinated with him for timing for the entire project. This was not required but allowed him to allocate resources to optimize work and minimize down-time across multiple projects. Aesthetics: Janet (my wife) worked with Tracy (Design expert and Brett's wife) on the overall design from start to finish, including multiple changes that resulted from structural changes. They worked together to understand Janet's vision and leveraged Tracy's experience. They covered every detail, down to the color of hangers that best suited the new area. They carried that vision out into the kitchen work and overall flow across all the "new". Tracy was incredibly helpful in offering suggestions when asked. She was unflappable when her closet design had to be modified a couple of times, providing updates to the design sketch throughout. Execution/Accountability Brett was the Project Manager for the effort, and he was around enough to check on sub's, identify issue and resolve without waiting for me to say anything, and keeping teams on task and time, with quality. Brett took accountability for everything the subs worked on and made sure he followed up with us as the project moved forward to make sure we were happy with the results, quality, timing, etc. Conclusion: Would I hire them for another project and/or recommend him to someone looking for this type of work? Yes, without hesitation!
