Installed new flooring on stairs, upstairs, and bathrooms with Steve Garner and Kris Piotrowski of FCI Mesa in early 2022. You can see the rushed and low quality install of the luxury vinyl plank (LVP) in the attached pictures (mis-matched patterns and colors, cuts too obvious), but since my wife was almost due to give birth, I did not have the bandwidth to chase down this issue. Since FCI Mesa incorrectly installed the LVP on the staircase by not including stair nosing on the steps to structurally support the LVP overhang on the steps (they actually cut off the existing stair nosing in the install process), the LVP at the step edge almost immediately started cracking at every step, until two of the steps finally gave out and LVP pieces just completely crumbled (see attached pictures). Contacted FCI Mesa in early 2025 to rectify this issue, and they informed me that since new owners had purchased this franchise from Kris, they had to "chase down the previous builders" (I thought FCI Mesa built this?) and were not responsible for contracts signed from when Kris was the franchise owner. They did however, come out to inspect the broken steps, and verbally quoted us a new estimate for installing the stair nosing and redoing the LVP. That was almost a month ago. I have yet to receive a formal written itemized estimate, nor any communication from neither the sales rep nor the franchise owner on how to move forward to fix this issue. I'm hoping FCI Mesa as a company can take responsibility for this terrible install job, and I'll update with new pictures if and when the stairs are fixed.
