Read on to learn about three popular types of luxury vinyl flooring you can use in your home.
Different Types Of Vinyl Flooring
Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring
Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring provides a realistic wood and stone look using 3D printing technology to mimic the texture of the real thing. It’s a water-resistant and low-maintenance material available at a cost-effective price point that will last for many years. A protective coating covers the textured vinyl, increasing its resistance to scratching, staining, and wear. Some LVP products have peel-off backing and others are installed with a click-and-lock method similar to laminate flooring.
Luxury Vinyl Tile Flooring
The style of vinyl you choose ultimately depends on personal preference. If you prefer luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring pieces, they typically have the appearance of stone, and it’s waterproof with a rich texture and color that is strikingly similar to the real thing. There are a great variety of options in our inventory, so you’re bound to find a design that will fit right in with your interior design. Some types of LVT can be installed using peel-off backing, while others are installed with full-spread adhesive.
Engineered Vinyl Plank Flooring
Another style is engineered vinyl plank (EVP) flooring, which has a rigid core made of fiberboard that’s excellent for areas with minor irregularities in the subfloor. It also has a bottom layer of cork used for cushioning, added comfort, and sound absorption. This fiberboard core is often referred to as high-density fiberboard (HDF) or medium-density fiberboard (MDF). These options are either comparable in performance or better than plywood cores, which are used for many engineered hardwood and laminate flooring products.
